So I thought with the film festival coming up and what not, i'd throw in a strange morsel...
Plot Summary: Machotaildrop is a highly visual and fantastical journey about an amateur skateboarder, Walter Rhum, who realizes his dream of turning pro and riding for the world's greatest skateboard company... Machotaildrop. Set in an anachronistic time and place, Machotaildrop is the greatest skateboard company of its day and the regal and grand sport of skateboarding has been thriving for many generations. Walter's journey serves as a window through which we discover the dark underbelly of what appears at first to be a benign skateboard company... plot summary from IMBD

Came across this artist called The Mima Mounds from Brooklyn. Their sounds are a satisfying blend of ambient/electronica and a kind of sample based instrumentation... All I can say is that this track sounds great on a good pair of headphones. /// listen up ///

Here is some music from London/South-East UK artist Blue Daisy. If you like music from the likes of Tricky or Massive Attack, and with a touch of alternative indie-soul, check this... the first track/snip "Shallow Vicinity" is a deep blend of gritty dub/electronica and "Hunterz" can be described as a new indie/soul and alt/psychedelia sound... out on Black Acre Records

Really, in many ways, Longstreth could be viewed as this generation's answer to Byrne, a distinctive torchbearer of labyrinthine song arrangements that go down easy. In that vein, it's fitting to give the Talking Head the final effusive word: "OMG this record is incredible!... Holy shit -- a quantum leap forwards and sideways at the same time. My new favorite record. I know this is all too gushy. Whatever, congratulations."Posted by the Wools on: December 16 2009
