The Santa Barbara Channels invites you to a very special Open House—just for nonprofits!
We’ve moved into a great new facility at 7000 Hollister in Goleta with state-of-the-art equipment, a large studio that can accommodate an audience of 50, and a terrific, professional staff. We want to show you our new home and explore the possibilities of working with your organization.
Our media network not only brings Channels 17 and 21 to 80% of homes in the Santa Barbara area, but also provides video on the web. We can produce short videos and PSAs, cover events, and coach you on benefiting from new media tools like Twitter, Facebook, and blogs.
Through several grants the Santa Barbara Channels is able to offer special services specificallyfor the unique needs of nonprofits. Our Nonprofit Spotlight series is just one example. We're also available to produce affordable short documentaries, perfect for fundraising or branding. Our Green Screen services help you produce short promos or PSAs that air on TV and are uploaded to sbchannels.net, so you can link the video to your website or e-mail the video to your constituents.
Visiting our new facility will inspire you to think creatively about getting your message and events out to a wider audience. You may want to host a special event, town hall, or important speaker right in our studio with an audience, and maybe even take live calls or e-mails. You’ll reach thousands of viewers who may know nothing about your organization.
The economy is a challenge for all of us. Now, more than ever, you need to maximize your resources to let people know who you are and how important your work is. We’re here to help.

As witnessed from the recent demonstrations in Iran, Twitter has incredible potential to motivate people for social causes. Learn how to harness this enthusiasm to promote your organization, and ‘tweet’ your way to more visibility. In this workshop you will gain the tools you’ll need to get more ‘tweeps’ and make the microblogging experience easier. Even if you’re new to the social media world, you’ll get in the know and will be using apps and buzzwords before you know it. We’ll also brainstorm together on how to use Twitter more effectively for our groups.
