Patty lapsed into a coma in the early evening last night only to gracefully pass away at the morning's first light. Jameson attended to her palliative needs as the nurses ensured a painless passing. Although Julianna left early in the day returning to home in DC, she flew back to SB this morning to plan Patty's memorial on MONDAY SEPTEMBER 28TH.
As friends and family have been notified of her passing, we all painfully recognize Patty's importance in our lives, if only by her absence. Grieving, like a cancer, comes in waves, bludgeoning our minds and bodies with unexpected stresses triggered by incidental random occurrences that leave us gasping for air with each spoken word. Although Patty's energy, her cacophonous laugh, her willingness to help others, her commitment to advocacy for the disabled and less fortunate may cease to influence us on a daily basis, her indomitable spirit, strength and compassion will remain within us all and not be forgotten.
