OK. Upcoming shows that our extremely picky panel of judges have decided to recommend that you attend. It's sad, only one of these shows has any local flavor, I tried to find some good local stuff going on, but what little I could find sucked. Sorry it's a little on the "lite" side musically.... Again, the pickings were a little slim.
It's important to note that we are mostly going to ignore "INDIE" shows at places like SOHO with bands that played Coachella this year. They're just here one night, just want your money, and don't need any extra promotion. We may review some of those shows though.
If you click on the bands name you will be afforded the chance to take a gander at their tunes.
The Two Shows in October that we like:
This show is a nice upbeat mix of simple, stripped down pop, some bands fronted by girls, some by guys. It's free and it should be fun. Don't be lazy, check out the bands.
Wed. OCT 20 - 7:30PM - BIKO GARAGE
6612 Sueno Rd. Isla Vista, CA
Carol Cleveland Sing
Eclectic Berkley songsmith with an interesting name plays in a garage in Isla Vista. His arangements are simple, but a lot of the time he gets pretty interesting.
If I find more shows that are good we'll pass em along.
What I wouldn't give for some distortion in my life right now.
And now, a playlist, with songs by The Long Winters, Caribou, Enon, Blonde Redhead, Nada Surf, Radar Bros, Starflyer 59, and The Blackheart Procession.
You are all wonderful. Listen to this at work and smile.
