I spent today at the park after a work meeting. I must've looked slightly nutty on a swing amongst a bunch of pillaging five year olds. But it's an old past time, and beats any other form of relaxation, so I have kept to it.
While overhearing a conversation the kids were having it dawned on me that kids are so much more adventurous than us "adults". I've often times been told to "grow up", but somehow that sounds more unappealing than a rotten apple. These kids were "running from pirates", "evacuating the scene", and hopping all over the place, it truly did make me smile.
I will never understand the need to "grow up". Ofcourse, maturity is one thing, but to lose your unadulturated imagination and thirst for life is a whole nother. Who wants to work a 9-5, and come home to emptiness? I would much rather keep a smile on, along with a full fledged sense of adventure.
