Today's hit is the JAVA STATION at 447 Hollister Ave.

I was lying in bed the other morning and I wanted not to have to make the same old boring “home” coffee. I could have gone to Eller's Donuts, but thought I would treat myself to a comfy living room environment instead. The Java Station is a converted gas station and has undergone a change of management in the past few years.
Here is the scoop on you, Java:
There were two tall male employees, apparently robots void of personalities, behind the counter. If I wanted to be in a “downer” place, I could have stayed home in the fog, watching my wife sleep and making my regular Cup of Joe.
I ordered coffee, in my own mug (being environmentally conscious and all), and a sweet-roll and headed to the unlit fireplace. There was never a “Good Morning or a Thank You” uttered by the robots. How difficult is it to program a computer?
I put my freshly purchased treasures on the end table by the unlit fireplace and went across the room to grab the news paper, taking a nostalgic a break from my iphone news sources.
As I returned I was flabbergasted to find a squadron of flies trying to commandeer my prized sweet-roll before I had a chance to pay it my own respects. What's with the flies JAVA? Do I need to send this to the health department?
The last generation Java had some character in it's decor, although it was worn and a bit ratty. This Java is boring and without decorative items hanging from the ceiling. There is nothing to take up the room's cubic volume which prevents any chance of intimacy of space. It is kinda like sitting all alone in the middle of a gymnasium.
The addition, although of the bulletin board is a nice touch, why would you put an invitation like that which requires casual loitering right behind all the coffee and condiments where folks are trying to self serve? Geeze.
Have you thought of a patio behind the building where the sun shines?
