I am a local cartoonist and will be having a signing for my children's book, Under the Sneep Tree: The Wamboozling of a Village on Sunday, Nov. 15th at Yoga Soup from 12pm-3pm. It is located a 28 Parker Way. Map Here.

Hello city 2.0 bloggers! My name is Molly Hahn and I am a cartoonist living in Santa Barbara. I've been wanting to start a blog on City 2.0 for awhile now......TA - DA!!!!
I just returned from exhibiting two new books at the Alternative Press expo in San Fransisco. The show was FANTASTIC!
That's me standing with my first children's book, Under The Sneep Tree: The Wamboozling of a Village, and my cartooning friend Tony who creates the webcomic Calamities of Nature.
I've been touring comic conventions with my work since the beginning of 2007. I create comics, picture books, and illustrations. I work mostly in pencil and paint my work digitally using Corel Painter and/or Photoshop. I've kept a website showcasing my work since 2001 at http://www.mollycules.com

Under the Sneep Tree: The Wamboozling of a Village is about a community of monsters called Wamboozles whose village experiences a terrible fire. During the disaster the natural habitat is destroyed including the Sneep Trees, which bear a fruit essential for their survival. When a small group of Wamboozles set out to search for food, one accidentally wanders into a town where he is discovered by young Percy. Initially they are scared of one another, but eventually learn that their differences are harmless. Over time they learn about each other’s culture, history, and create a timeless bond. The book is appropriate for children ages 5-8.
The book made it's premiere at the San Diego Comic Con in July and sold out before the convention’s end. The book has received consistently positive reviews from readers; one parent expressed that his 4 year old daughter asked for this to be read repeatedly to here each night. Another fan noted, “I have read your book several times, each time I find myself smiling, both for meeting your adorable characteers and their story, as well as the important message in your book. What could be more wonderful than that?”
I was moved to create this book in response to the fires Santa Barbara has experienced over the last two years and how we transformed as a community.
I will be having a book signingave a signing Sunday, November 15th at Yoga Soup from 12pm-3pm. Live music, art activities, and refreshments will be provided. I will conduct readings throughout the event. Yoga Soup is located at 28 Parker Way.
