ABOUT: Eight local artists show their love for the landmark Chinese building that was once Jimmy’s Oriental Gardens with original artworks depicting the 1947 building in their own styles in the singular space where the beloved cocktail lounge was located. Illustration, to watercolor, oil and acrylic, French dyes on silk and a painterly photograph make up the magical combination of impressions. The lounge is now called, Lovejoy’s Pickle Room, and owners Bob & Clay Lovejoy honor the longtime legacy of Jimmy & Tommy Chung and their families as well as the neighborhood, which was once a bustling Chinatown with this exhibit instigated by Mo McFadden. Stop in, see the show, have a cocktail and enjoy the ambiance of one of Santa Barbara’s classic spots open again and looking much like it did – only better – after the restoration.
