ABOUT: Adams returns to Southern California with works never before seen here. As an Artist/Photographer, she has developed her own multi-media approach by making use of several processes, including multiple-printing, collage, the photogram & more. Recently she has re-introduced painting, with a subtle yet exciting palette. Her photographic imagery is often of Human-Scale, including sculpture, in which physical presence invites participation. You’re invited into the artist’s studio for an installation of eight foot scrolls diluting boundaries between human, animal, plant and the cosmic, as well as nine foot sculptures: The Traveler and The Messenger. Through the mystery of the unseen in deep, dark, rich black you’ll be witness to the unique images revealed in the artist’s large, framed photographic works. Through her special uses of the “photogram” process, the viewer can sense a direct photographic tracing of a coyote skull or, for that matter, an actual imprint of the human form. No camera, negative, enlarger, or digital materials are employed in creating these one-of-a-kind, awe-inspiring images. You have to see for yourself. *Saturday’s Open Studio is in co-ordination with the Palm Loft Gallery Opening.
SPECIAL NOTE: Adams’ recent book, Blindly Suspended, Between the Known and Unknown is a finely executed, hand-worked, limited edition Artist Book. The artist will sign remaining copies at the OPEN STUDIO.
