Synopsis: Autism resources and services become harder to find once a person has aged out of the school system. This conference is designed for parents, family members, teachers, friends and medical professionals on how to assist people with autism throughout their life span. A few topics deal with classroom behavior and the basic needs of a person with ASD. Speakers include Phillip Hain; Anne Holmes, M.S., C.C.C.; Margie Oppel, attorney; Jarice Butterfield, PhD Director of SELPA; Claudia Eschavarria, M.Ed.; Judy Corliss, R.N.; Mark Corliss and Sara Black; Thomas McCool, EdD; and Victor Dominocello, M.A. In addition, the symposium will introduce discussions on legal rights and managing medications, new technology applications, human sexuality and give insights on coping mechanisms for people with autism and those around them.
