ABOUT: This first class was buzzing and so popular we’re doing it again. Paul Cronshaw will introduce participants to respectful and organic ways of keeping honeybees at the beginning of a new beekeeping season. Designed to build basic beekeeping skills; such as the honeybee society and biology, equipment, starting colonies, and spring management requirements. Overall focus will home in on the unique challenges and benefits to beekeeping in Santa Barbara County. You will build your own hive box as well in this intensive eight-hour workshop. Then, later in the year, the second workshop Care of the Hive will deepen the knowledge and understanding of the honeybee, by building on the concepts learned from this introduction workshop. Consider signing up for both and get the discount.
