This was my enhanced view from my front door in downtown Santa Barbara as flames raged over the city. This was our 3rd night with such a view.

The ocean has wonderful powers. I found it very important during the fire, and made a personal contribution to water conservation efforts by only bathing in the sea.

Hendry's Beach was a popular refuge this week. People seemed to let our fire be background to living.

Though air quality was quite poor due to the Jesusita Fire, people continued to recreate on the beaches of Santa Barbara.
