A call out to all of the people who are thinking about voting for the "know nothings" like Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann. These are the the people who are voting for so-called (and narrow) ideological reasons, like 'so-called Christianity and so-called Conservatism' without the pragmatic advantage of clear thought about what is and what really needs doing.
John Adams said that “Representative government and trial by jury are the heart and lungs of liberty. Without them we have no other fortification against being ridden like horses, fleeced like sheep, worked like cattle, and fed and clothed like swine and hounds.” -John Adams, 1774
We are being offered the choice of voting for some folks that haven't got the brains God gave them, and who follow ideological dead ends. Some voters are being led like sheep all the while being encouraged by candidates who are not only lining their pockets but also in the pockets of their funders, all the while forgetting about the true 'greater good' of the nation and it's citizens.
C'mon citizens. let's educate ourselves. Instead of reasoning from the general and ideological, down to the particular, let's look at all of the particulars and reason up to a clear picture of what the situation really is. At all levels of government, we desperately need to be paying attention to who is funding whom, who is actually working to solve our very real problems, rather than just stand in the way for their own political and financial ends.
If we don't, it could be really "baaaaad"...
Thank Andy Farnsworth for the photo of sheep.
