Literary SB: Visit The Poetry Booth during 1st Thursday!
Posted by amybou on:
Do you like poetry, public art installations, and/or having fun? Check out The Poetry Booth in front of the old Borders (the new Marshalls) on First Thursday on April 5 from 5-7pm. You'll also be celebrating National Poetry Month, and you may even leave with a poem.
Created and curated by Michelle Detorie and funded by The Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative, The Poetry Booth is an interactive public art installation and collaborative workspace for experiencing and creating poems with the help or guidance of practiced poets and educators.
The Poetry Booth has no fixed form or size; rather, it is a mutable collection of materials and activities that are curated and installed in a site-specific way each time the booth is staged. For more info: poetrybooth.blogspot.com
If you can't make it downtown, you can visit The Poetry Booth at UCSB on Thursday, April 19 from 2-4pm on the SRB Patio.
Happy poetry making!
